Birding Santa Cruz Island

If an endemic jay does not appeal to you, then surely you would like to bear witness to the Scorpion Anchorage Monstrosity Gull. This Western Gull, replete with tongue sticking out of its throat, can often be seen next to the dock at Scorpion.

Let's be real here. You want to see life birds. You haven't seen Island Scrub-Jay. So if you want to see this bird, you must come to my island. And if you don't plan on doing that...it's because you already have. There is no avoiding it. And goddamn, there is so much else to see here other than The Jay. The Great(est) Ornithologist Felonious Jive gives you the lowdown of birding Santa Cruz Island at 10,000 Birds.

  2. I wish I could wiggle my nose and be on that island so you could show me those jays.
