It looks like they didn't scramble to protect those eggs. They left them sunny-side up. They're lucky those eggs don't get poached. I hope they don't get basted when the tide comes in, or carried off by some devil.

Funny! Our least terns lay their eggs on the rooftops of grocery stores. Just right there on the roof.
