This goes out to all the dorks. All the nerds. All the people brave and weird enough to have a blog on the Blogger platform. WordPress users or the blogless masses don't have to read on.
You may have noticed earlier this year that some of the photos you post on your blog look remarkably shitty compared to the original version. For example, I put the above photo (featuring a Broad-winged Hawk from Point Reyes, CA) in a draft post I was working on. Instead of the so-so photo you see above, the photo looked like utter bullshit. Blogger had rendered the photo darker and noticeably redder than how the photo actually looked. It was disgusting. This has been a trend many have experienced...pictures uploaded to Blogger are often made darker and redder than how they are supposed to appear.
While complaining to Flycatcher Jen about this problem, she vaguely alluded to a potential fix that she heard about. Remarkably, rumors turned out to be true and it is a real fix! Here is what to do:
- Go to your Google + account.
- Get into your Settings.
- Scroll down to the Auto Enhance section.
- Check "off" instead of "normal".
- Google + should automatically save this new setting. You're all set!
Pretty easy eh? I'm grateful this problem was even fixable...Google/Blogger would be wise to avoid this kind of thing in the future if they want to keep people from jumping to WordPress.
